Floor Crack Repair
Commonly found in the basements of older homes, cracks occur in concrete floors upon expansion and contraction from hydrostatic pressure that pushes up from the ground against the concrete. The higher the water table rises around your basement, the greater the hydrostatic pressure exerted against the concrete and released in the form of small cracks. Waterproofing Medics repairs floor cracks using a two-part, injectable floor epoxy. To prevent vapor and moisture transmission, we also recommend applying Radon Blocker as an effective concrete sealer for your floor.
Crack repair and basement sealing products do not provide relief from hydrostatic pressure, however. To more permanently address hydrostatic pressure and resulting floor cracks, we install a sump pump and sub-grade basin pit. This enables water beneath the concrete floor to be siphoned into the sump pit and discharged using the sump pump, better managing the water table level around and under your home.
